I started this community because I needed a way to combine everything I’m passionate about: beauty, fitness, healthy eating, helping others and most importantly, Jesus Christ. Over the past year, I’ve spent a lot of time allowing God to direct my vision and I’m confident that I’m ready to help women see themselves as God sees them.
By day, I’m a full-time beauty editor, which means that I see and hear a lot of the physical struggles that women face when it comes to their skincare, hair, health and fitness. After reading literally thousands of emails and social media posts from women who have just about lost all of their confidence over physical struggles such as acne, alopecia, health problems or an extra 20 pounds that wouldn’t budge, it dawned on me that there was a better way of solving all of these beauty and health problems than by using a product from the drugstore or a starting quick weight loss fix. Our ultimate beauty and health solution is Jesus Christ.
Now some of you may be thinking, “Yea, right Nicole. Girl, I really do need some acne cream!” In no way am I saying that we should stop using beauty products. But oftentimes we allow a temporary, physical “impairment” to dim our light. The word says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:6) There is nothing—absolutely nothing—that should hinder our God-given gift to be our very best selves.
My goal with Beauty Breakthrough is to help you understand you that your light ALWAYS comes from Christ and Christ alone. In doing so you will begin to truly honor your beauty and your body in a spirit-led way that not only honors God, but equips you to do what he has called you to do!
Beauty Breakthrough is not just about the usual “beauty” we think of in terms of hair and makeup. We also place a huge emphasis on overall health. Do you think it’s God will for your life to be tired all the time and eating food that is nutritionally-void, chemically-processed foods instead of healthy, well-balanced meals? Absolutely not! During this journey, we will study what the Word says about how we should treat our bodies. The Bible says that believers must “offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God–this is your spiritual act of worship.” (Romans 12:1) Our bodies do not belong to us—they belong to God! Once you fully embrace this, I am confident you’ll be inspired to take an active interest in your health through frequent exercise and healthy eating.
Once we open the door to optimal health and complete wholeness in God, the possibilities for our lives are limitless!
